What the alerts mean
- Sync the sensor: the sensor has not sent its data to the iPad in over 1 day.
- Sync Needed Immediately: it has been more than 2 days. The sensor’s memory will soon be full and it will stop recording, so sync it as soon as you can.
Syncing happens in two steps. First the sensor sends its data to the iPad over Bluetooth. Then the iPad uploads it to the Discovery Cloud over the internet. These alerts are about the first step.
How to clear the alert
- Place the sensor on the wireless charger, in the matching outline. The sensor’s own green LED shows it is charging.
- Open the Discovery App and keep the iPad within 2 meters of the charger, with no walls in between.
- Keep the iPad screen on and the app open. A progress bar appears next to the sensor.
- Leave the sensor on the charger until the sync finishes. This can take several hours after a long wear session. Overnight is fine.
- Check the icon in the top-right corner of the app. Blue Synced means the data has also reached the cloud. Gray spinning Syncing means the upload is still in progress.
Why a sync can take a long time
- The sensor was off the charger for a long time. ADAM sensors record whenever they are off the charger, even when nobody is wearing them, until they have been still for 3 hours. ANNE Chest and ANNE Limb stop after about 30 minutes without skin contact.
- A weak Bluetooth connection. Move the iPad closer to the charger and make sure nothing is in between.
- A slow internet connection for the upload step. Wi-Fi is usually faster than cellular data.
Please don’t wipe the sensor to clear the alert
Reset Memory in Admin Settings permanently deletes any data still on the sensor. Only use it for data you know you do not need, such as a test run, and only after checking with your study team. If a real wear session will not sync, contact us instead.
